Nooks and Crannies of Sheffield

Russell CuttsComment

It's hard to put a finger on why exactly we derive pleasure from finding the secret streets, unexplored nooks and hidden crannies in an urban landscape but we definitely do.

They often present themselves unexpectedly when you try a new way to work or be more observant on an old one. Characteristically speaking, Nooks and Crannies in an Urban landscape catch our eye when they are not in keeping with their surroundings. A reminder of what used to be. An old entrance to a abandoned building. A empty wall transformed into street art.

These are these sort of sight that you normally only see when you ditch the car and get out to explore and #discoveryourcity. Luckily for us, the folk of Sheffield, our city is covered in them. Partly due to it's recent industrial past, partly due to the topography and partly due the creative people restoring or re-purposing these spaces.

The sheer amount of alleyways, renovated workshops and abandoned factories means it will be difficult to explore them all. That's why we want you to get out there and share your findings with us. Grab your bicycle, walking boots and a camera and capture the interesting side of the city. #discoveryourcity and share your explorations with us.

Believe you me... there's plenty to see in Sheffield when you #discoveryourcity
