Russell’s Bicycle Shed Secure Cycle Hub
Terms and Conditions (18/08/2023):
1. Definitions: Russell’s Bicycle Shed will be known as the Supplier in these terms and conditions, whilst the user of the Hub subscribing to the Russell’s Bicycle Shed Cycle Hub network will be known as the Customer. Each cycle hub being used by the Customer will be known as the Hub, whilst the network of cycle hubs operated by the Supplier and available for use by the Customer will be known as the Hub Network.
2. To make use of the Hub Network, the Customer must subscribe to the Supplier’s Hub Network plan by paying a monthly subscription fee that will allow access to Hubs on the Hub Network. This fee will be increased every April by an amount at least equal to the current CPI. Being a subscriber to the Hub Network plan does not guarantee a space for your bicycle at any individual Hub.
3. Access information to the Hub Network, details and codes of any kind are not transferable, and can only be used by the Customer assigned the access information on sign up by the Supplier.
4. It is the responsibility of the Customer to lock their cycle securely to one of the provided cycle stands within the Hub, using their own secure lock. The Supplier will accept no responsibility for any loss or damage when a bike is stored at a Hub.
5. If there are any problems associated with a bike locked in the Hub, the Customer can contact the Supplier by email at: hubs@russellsbicycleshed.co.uk and the Supplier will respond as soon as is practical.
6. Customers of the Hub must comply with all local and national statute regulations and / or any railway bye laws when a Hub is located at a railway property.
7. Hub users must comply with all reasonable directions from the Supplier’s staff team, or from railway staff or the British Transport Police when the Hub is located at a railway property.
8. Customers are requested to assist in keeping the Hub and all areas within it in a clean and tidy condition. The supplier withholds the right to close toilets or other Cycle Hub areas if they are being misused, and to cancel access to those responsible.
9. Each Hub will be assigned a three letter code (the same code as the hosting railway station, where appropriate) which will be posted at the Hub. At present the individual Hub codes are as follows: Meadowhall (MHS), Sheffield Station (SHF), Sheffield City Centre (SCC), Worksop (WRK). The Customer must quote this code in any communication with the Supplier.
10. For security purposes the Supplier’s staff team and any railway staff associated with a Hub on railway property will have the right to search any bags/panniers etc. Locked bags and/or panniers will be forced open.
11. Cycles left unlocked may be removed by the Supplier and disposed of immediately.
12. Cycles left in a Hub for more than 4 weeks, may be removed and disposed of by the Supplier. A bike left for over 4 weeks will be tagged for removal, and the owner will have two weeks to claim the bike or contact the Supplier, after which it will disposed of by the Supplier.
13. The Supplier reserves the right to suspend or cancel a Customer’s subscription and access to the Hub Network for any transgression of these conditions
14. Customers may cancel their subscription at any time by cancelling the direct debit. Access to the hubs will be immediately suspended. They may also pause their subscription at anytime and restart it by contacting the supplier at hubs@russellsbicycleshed.co.uk stating full name and post code, access to the hubs will be immediately suspended until subscription unpaused.
15. Customer data will be protected at all times, The Customer has the right to ask the Supplier for a copy of all data we hold about them and their activity using the Hub Network. This data will be used anonymously to assist in the Supplier’s marketing and to create usage reports for third parties such as railway companies and local authorities. Customer data will be deleted from the Supplier’s system 6 years after the Customer has cancelled their subscription. The data controller is Russell’s Bicycle Shed Limited.
16. Customers will be emailed from time to time with updates about the Hubs along with emails regarding the status of the Customer’s subscription. The supplier will never supply the Customer’s data to any third party other than in the form mentioned in clause 15.
17. These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time, a copy will be posted in the cycle hub and on the suppliers website; it is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure they have read and understood these terms and conditions.
18. Signing up to a Hub Network subscription plan indicates that you have read and accept these terms and conditions.
