The last few months have been quite hard work. We've been quietly working on creating a new addition to Russell's Bicycle Shed, something that will help more people get into and enjoy cycling.
Our secondhand bike centre opened its doors to the public on 16th February and its been welcomed by many. The space is dedicated to secondhand bikes, making good what was once discarded and breathing new life into tired bikes.
The new shop is headed up by Nathan who will be providing sales and maintenance from the shop. We've got a batch of about 25 bikes at present of varying size, shape and colour but all will be refurbished to working condition with new parts where needed and every bike comes with a 3 month warranty on the work completed. Its a great way to start to ride or to replace a stolen commuter bike.
There is full workshop facilities there too and if you are a Russell's Bicycle Club member you can get your bike serviced there too on the same terms. Over time there we will build up our parts and accessories offering too.
We'll also be offering Hire of some real classics, we've got 6 bikes of varying age and size all valid to ride in the ride of rides; l'eroica Britannia in June. If you've set your sights on doing the 100 miler then you'll want to do it in style on one of our classics.
